Torque Tool
The
torque tool consists of a ‘low speed / high torque’ hydraulic motor,
working through a torque multiplier
unit, housed within an anodised aluminium body. The output of the torque
multiplier is coupled to a 17-4 PH stainless steel drive socket.
The tool is currently
configured with a motor capable of producing an output of 200Nm and has a 5:1
ratio gearbox, thereby facilitating a maximum output torque of 1000 Nm.
Outputs up to 1750 Nm are available on this style of tool.
The torque tool is provided
with a manipulator handle, the design of which can be varied as required,
a surface torque analyser, surface turns display system fed via the ROV's control
umbilical and an ROV mounted torque select panel.
